India's Suryakumar Yadav will enter the T20 World Cup as the second-best batter in the format after an update to the ICC men's player rankings released on Wednesday.
Pakistani opener Mohammad Rizwan with 861 rating points extended his lead to the top of the T20I batters ranking after another consistent outing during the New Zealand tri-series, while Suryakumar with 838 rating still holds the second lead in the clash between the two neighbors at the MCG on Sunday. KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma are all static in the latest update.
Pakistani captain Babar Azam is third spot ahead of New Zealander Aiden Markram and South African Devon Conway. The only move into the top 10 since the latest hit chart update saw aggressive New Zealand right-handed Glenn Phillips climb 13 spots to 10th place thanks to his strong three-series efforts against Bangladesh and Pakistan. Hardik Pandya also stayed in sixth place in the T20I all-rounder ranking with 173 points.
Captain Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh will participate in the T20 World Cup as the top all-rounder. Shakib scored top marks after an outstanding tri-series against New Zealand and Pakistan, with the veteran having beaten for half a century in a row in Bangladesh's last two games. Shakib expelled Afghan Mohammad Nabi.
There has been very little movement in the top 10 of the updated bowlers list, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman advanced two places to fifth and South African counterpart Keshav Maharaj advanced one place to eight. Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood with 705 rating points maintains his lead at the top of the T20I bowling rankings, followed by Afghan spinner Rashid Khan having 696, Sri Lankan tweaker Wanindu Hasaranga with 692 and South African veteran Tabraiz Shamsi 688.
Indian trio Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel ranked at 12th, 22nd and 23rd respectively.
