The Indian Premier League IPL 2023 Schedule was announced on Friday, February 17, as the countdown to the biggest cricket tournament in the country begins. Like last year, this year, there will be ten teams who will work hard and give their sweat and blood for the crown. The match will begin on March 31, and the defending champions Gujarat Titans will face Chennai Super Kings in the first game of the IPL 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Seventy matches will be played in the league, including 18 doubleheaders. The teams will also be divided into two groups: Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knights, and Rajasthan Royals in Group A. Group B are Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The final league game will be played on May 21 in Bengaluru between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bangalore. After league games, the top four teams in the standings will compete in the playoffs. After two qualifiers and one eliminator, the final will be played on May 28, 2023.
The tournament will take place in 12 venues: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mohali, and Mumbai. For the first time since 2019, the league will resume its regular home-and-away schedule in India, with each team playing 14 matches. Each unit has home support, seven games are played at home, and the remaining seven are played away.
The matches will be played on two timings, with the evening play beginning at 7:30 PM IST, while afternoon matches on the day of the doubleheaders will start from 3:30 PM IST.
