India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I Highlights: It's a Tie!

India vs New Zealand 3rd T20I Highlights: The match ended up in a tie on DLS method by 11ic Blog

After a brilliant display in the second T20I at Bay Oval, the Indian cricket team reached Napier for the third and final T20I. Led by Hardik Pandya, the Men in Blue have an unassailable 1-0 lead and are aiming to win the series at McLean Park against New Zealand.

The game tied to the DLS method. Hardik Pandya and Deepak Hooda were in the crease with 75/4 in nine overs when the rain disrupted. New Zealand made an early start in the Powerplay as they drew India back to 26/3 in the first four overs and openers Ishan Kishan and Rishab Pant went early. Shreyas Iyer again succumbed to the short ball without stopping the scores. Surya looked good, as always, but unfortunately shoots one straight to Glenn Phillips of Ish Sodhi and dismissed for 13 (10).

Going into the match, Mohammad Siraj played well, posting a career high of 4/17 (4). Arshdeep Singh sacked a four-wicket haul. On the other side, opener Devon Conway and Glenn Phillips built an 86-run partnership for the third wicket that propelled New Zealand to a dominant 130-2 position at the 16th over. However, the Blackcaps were down nine runs for 30 runs from there to end up going 160 without completing their 20 over quota.

So that was it. The India vs New Zealand 3rd t201 match is not resumed due to rain, and it’s a tie. It will come as a relief to the Men in Blue as they had lost their first wickets and were only on the DLS par score of 75. A good result for the young Indian team led by Hardik Pandya. They won the series 1-0. They played well today especially in the latter part of the innings to limit New Zealand to 160.

Siraj was named Player of the Match for his 4-wicket spell. India did not start well with the bat, losing wickets early. Pandya, who was Hooda's partner, looked good. But with no other batter to follow and the required run rate of 9 more achieved, India will be on the happier side. The first match was wash out but SKY and Hooda were outstanding in the previous match.

We will now move on to the 50-over setup where these two will face off in a three-game series starting November 25th.
