The ICC T20 Women's World Cup kicked off in South Africa on 10 February 2023 with the opening match between the host team, South Africa and Sri Lanka. This is the first time the ICC T-20 Women's World Cup tournament will be held in an African country.
The other seven teams entered the competition automatically, with South Africa being the hosts. Ireland and Bangladesh, who qualified for the qualifiers, are the last two teams in the top 10. In order to enter the knockout tournament, teams must finish in the top 2 places in their groups. Each team plays one match against the other teams in the same group, getting two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss.
All of the Women's World Cup T20 teams are focused on winning the trophy as the competition continues. Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand, and Bangladesh are the five teams in group 1. New Zealand is struggling while Australia is leading after winning two straight games. Same with Group 1, Group 2 consist of 5 teams, England, India, Pakistan, Ireland, and West Indies. India is second on the list, after England.

The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup points table is based on each team's total number of wins, losses and draws. A team gets two points for a win and one point for a tie or no score. The team with the highest number of points at the end of the group stage will be the first in the group and advance to the next round. The match was held in India and attracted a lot of attention from cricket fans around the world.
The final of 23 match games will take place on February 26, 2023. Two semi-finals are planned for February 23-24, 2023 before the final hurdle.
